This page lists frequently asked questions abour our services. Please read through before contacting Drop In Media; your question may already be answered.

Does Drop In Media own any shortcode?

Yes, we have provisioned 81595 on all major carriers.

What carriers are supported?

Our applications are available on Cingular Wireless, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Boost, Nextel and T-mobile.

How do I Opt-Out?

Simply text STOP to 81595. If you are subscribed to more than one application, you'll receive a message asking you to send 'STOP keyword' where keyword is replaced by the actual keyword used to trigger application.

What is this keyword for?

Because shortcodes in the US are very expensive, it is common to share many services on a single shortcode. A unique keyword is assigned to each service for this purpose. When starting an SMS conversation with a particular service, always send the keyword first.

How do I Opt-In?

Simply send the application keyword to 81595, eg surf to 81595

What happens if I do not respond to confirmation?

The confirmation is only valid for 60 minutes. After that it will expire and you will need to send a keyword again, to initiate dialog with a particular application.

How do I know what keywords are available?

Send HELP to 81595.

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on each deployed service (and it's owner), but is roughly between 25c a message and $1 a message.

Do I get charged premium for Opt-In and Welcome messages?

No. Any "system" messages, such as help, welcome, goodbye, opt-in messages are not premium. Standard messaging charges may still apply.

How do I know when I get charged?

Whenever we send you a premium message, we append ($1/stop 2quit). If you do not receive this advice of charge, you have not been charged.

Why does it say $1, when the web site said 25c per message?

We currently can only charge $1 on our shortcode. Therefore you will be charged once every four messages, if an application is advertised as 25c/message.

What if I am a pre-paid customer?

Pre-paid customers are not able to participate in the program.

Do Standard rate messaging costs apply?

Standard rate messaging rates may apply depending on your SMS messaging contract.

Do you allow 3rd parties to import list of phone numbers?

No. We have a strict opt-in policy and we do not support, or facilitate any other way of getting subscribers on our services.

Why am I not receiving messages?

You must be on one of the supported carriers in order to receive our messages.
